Portrait of Marion Webber, dated 1937.  EVT Watson’s  portrait subjects were primarily academic, artistic, political, civic, religious, and social leading figures. Marion was likely a member of a prominent Northeast family. We suspect she may have married into the Dupont family.  This painting was last sold retail in 1993 for $6825 and has since been appraised at a much higher value. Presented here in original condition we feel that a professional cleaning would greatly enhance what is already a very striking piece. Framed size 41x47 IN.
