B.F.Southgate & Co.
Over three decades in the making
Best friends, best finds, B.F. Southgate
At the end of the 1980s, as part of a new venture, the Windsor Antiques Center was moved into the space formerly occupied by the Waterman Place Mall. With 10,000 square feet and seventeen former shopfronts was the perfect location to become a premier destination for antique lovers.
Shortly thereafter, William and Isabelle Bradley purchased the "Antiques Collaborative" and for the next thirty two years shepherded it's growth and development into one of the region's best antique stores.
In 2024, after a period as dealers at the
Antiques Collaborative, Mick and Katharine Maguire purchased the business from the Bradleys.
Mick retired from an executive position at Simon Pearce in late 2023. His background includes many years of collecting, restoring, and selling antiques. He also brings to bear broader experience from his time in retail leadership and formerly as a management consultant.
Katharine brings a multitude of experience working with people across all walks of life, and plenty of front desk retail hours under her belt.
Freshly rebranded as "B.F. Southgate and Company" The Maguire's vision is to move with the changing market, doubling down on the best of the past, while bringing in new product lines and appealing to a broader audience.
One question we get asked fairly often is "Who is (or was) B.F? " Maybe more on that later, for now we like to say it stands for "Best Friends and Best Finds!"
