Lynn's life as an artist began early in Summit, NJ at the Summit Art Association. She studied art at Colorado State University. In 1980, she received a BFA in Art Education from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. Post graduation she founded the Crossroads Studio of Fine Arts in Boxford, Massachusetts, where she offered arts and crafts to children and adult painting instruction.

After relocating to Vermont, she began teaching art classes to special needs adults at A.V.A Gallery in Lebanon, NH and also offered adult oil painting classes at the ArtisTree in Pomfret, Vermont. During the Covid pandemic she taught Zoom art to special needs adults of Zack's Place of Woodstock, VT.

"Painting in oils has been my passion since the 1990's. My paintings are expressive, full of life and richness of lush color. My aim is to capture the truth of my subjects in paint. I strive to expressively capture light, shadows, color and content. My painting technique is loose and painterly, especially in my Plein Air paintings. I also paint frequently in my studio, where I work on larger, more complex pieces.

My painting style has been influenced by the Cape Ann Painters of Massachusetts. Caleb Stone of Rockport, MA is my long time mentor. Copley Master, Mark Hayden of Bradford, MA, encouraged my early exploration in oils. His teachings in portrait and still life painting has had a lasting influence."
